Welcome to Atlassian's Group Chat service!

Here you can chat with Atlassian staff and the broader community at specific times.

Logging In

Web Client

This server acts as a complete web chat client. To join the chat using your browser, login anonymously and choose a username.

XMPP (Jabber) Client

To log in to the chat server with your XMPP client software, you will need to point your client at chat.atlassian.com using the username and password you created. Alternatively you can use an account on your own server, or sign-up at any of the public servers (jabber.org being the most popular).

To join a chat with your XMPP client software, the server is conference.chat.atlassian.com and the chat room names are the following:

General Chat - general
JIRA Developer Chat - jira-dev
Confluence Developer Chat - confluence-dev
Bamboo Developer Chat - bamboo-dev
Crowd Developer Chat - crowd-dev

If you're looking for a rich client, we use the following: Adium (OSX only - make sure you get the latest release), Pandion (Windows), Gaim (Linux, Windows), Gajim (Linux, Windows) and Spark (cross platform, Java). All of the clients listed here are free. A full list can be found at the Jabber website.
