Logging In

XMPP (Jabber) Client

To join a chat with your XMPP client software, the server is conference.chat.atlassian.com and the chat room names are the following:

General Chat - general
JIRA Developer Chat - jira-dev
Confluence Developer Chat - confluence-dev
Bamboo Developer Chat - bamboo-dev
Crowd Developer Chat - crowd-dev

If you're looking for a rich client, we use the following: Adium (OSX only - make sure you get the latest release), Pidgin (Linux, Windows), and Spark (cross platform, Java). All of the clients listed here are free. A full list can be found at the Jabber website.
